AMPscript is inline, fast, ideal for personalization tokens, LOOKUPs, and simple logic in the email body. SSJS is used for procedural logic, Platform functions, WSProxy calls, and CloudPage backends. Never mix heavy SSJS in email sends — it's slower and harder to maintain.
